Nisha AbdulCader, MD, FAAP

Child Abuse pediatrician
County of San Luis Obispo

Dr. AbdulCader is a Child Abuse pediatrician for the County of San Luis Obispo. Her work with vulnerable populations include her roles as Medical Director for the Suspected Abuse Response Team, team pediatrician at Martha’s Place Children’s Center evaluating the birth to 5 year old Medi-Cal population with complex behaviors and/or prenatal substance exposure, and as the supervising physician for the Juvenile Service Center.


Dr. AbdulCader graduated from UC Santa Cruz in Biology and Community Studies, where she conducted a 6 month field study in health issues with indigenous populations in southern Mexico.  During medical school at the Drew/UCLA Medical Education program she partnered in the foundation of the UMMA Community Clinic in South Central Los Angeles, the first Muslim-founded Free clinic in the United States.  She completed her pediatric residency at Harbor-UCLA and has been living on the Central Coast for over 20 years.
