Magdalena Benitez, MSW, is an independent consultant and enjoys working with community and education collaborators to strengthen families and communities.  She has experience partnering with parent and youth leaders, managing a family resource center, and providing capacity building to the child abuse prevention and early education fields. Most recently, Magdalena has overseen and supported the implementation of Abriendo Puertas/Opening Doors (AP/OD) an evidence-based parenting, leadership, and advocacy training program for parents of children 0-5 in over 35 organizations across Los Angeles County as part of a family engagement initiative sponsored by First 5 LA. An expert in the design and delivery of training both in-person and virtually to support family strengthening professionals, Magdalena is passionate about facilitating conversations in English and Spanish that enhance our openness to cultural understanding and building community.
